Hello everyone, I am planning to install an IKEA Metod kitchen and I’m wondering if there is a simple, well-structured guide available that is suitable for DIY builders with moderate DIY skills. The official instructions are often quite text-heavy and sometimes hard to follow. Is there perhaps a step-by-step guide that clearly summarizes the most important steps, helps avoid common pitfalls, and maybe includes tips on tools or time planning? What matters most to me is an easy-to-understand guide that helps me assemble the cabinets securely and level without spending too much time searching for details. Does anyone have experience or recommendations on how to best approach the installation process?

- Unpack and sort all parts by cabinet type
- Read the entire assembly manual first, even if it’s boring
- Always assemble the base frames carefully first, a lot depends on this
- Pay close attention to the markings when installing the door hinges
- Check everything with a spirit level and align before tightening
This approach worked best for me, and yes, a bit of music helps while screwing things together 😄

Always tighten screws using the correct matching bit. Position door hinges correctly before installation.Very important! I would also add that when positioning the hinges, you should watch out for any small plastic clips that are sometimes overlooked. Otherwise, the doors might not close properly.
And one more tip about tools: a cordless impact driver is often too aggressive for the material. It’s better to use a torque screwdriver or a fine cordless drill.

So the plastic inserts are crucial for the proper function of the hinges? Are there any other small components or installation details where non-professionals often make mistakes? I’m especially interested in the topic of “accurate alignment” – with a longer kitchen run, that can quickly lead to frustrating situations.
