Hello,
is there a type of pipe that does not burst or get damaged when the water inside freezes due to low outside temperatures?
(e.g., composite pipe with screw fittings, PE with adhesive fittings, HDPE pipe)

No idea, but I doubt you can get any kind of warranty on that anywhere. The 10% expansion of frozen water will always eventually win against the pipe or at least the connections. Nature always wins!

Maybe a continuous steel pipe with a 10mm (0.4 inch) wall thickness.

There are frost-proof outdoor water taps. They work because the pipe length is short and one end is open. But a whole pipe? What are you planning to do?

Insulating material around it? At least it helps in the barn.

A trace heating system could also be a solution; this way, nothing can freeze. It is often used in the industry.

I want to install a water pipe in my house for non-potable water. In winter, there could also be frost inside the house (poorly insulated, unoccupied for an extended period).
