Is there a specific and detailed guide for cleaning the drawers of the Ikea Brimnes cabinet that also addresses the different materials used in the drawers? I’m not looking for general cleaning tips, but rather an official or at least proven method that prevents damage and is optimal for the surfaces and the drawer mechanisms. Ideally, the guide should also include advice on which cleaning agents to avoid and how to best remove stubborn stains without compromising the functionality of the drawers. Does anyone have such a guide or experience with this, especially concerning the white high-gloss fronts and the metal slides?

As far as I know, there is no official detailed cleaning guide from Ikea

This point is interesting. There really isn’t an official cleaning instruction from Ikea specifically for Brimnes drawers, which surprises me given how popular the product is.

This leads me to suspect that Ikea either considers cleaning in general to be straightforward or deliberately avoids liability for improper cleaning methods.

Therefore, I would also advise caution with seemingly practical tips that don’t provide sources or experience-based evidence.

From my perspective, it is also important that users share their experiences and document their own findings.

Is there anyone here with long-term experience regarding cleaning methods that go beyond basic care and actually help prevent premature wear?

I’ve had my BRIMNES wardrobe for over 3 years. I regularly wipe the drawers with a damp microfiber cloth, sometimes with a bit of dish soap. Works great!

I also apply silicone spray to the drawer rails now and then. It keeps everything running smoothly and quietly.

I’m no expert on professional materials, but so far no stains or dull spots.

Consistency in cleaning is the most important thing; then everything looks great! Thumbs up for easy maintenance!
