Hello everyone,
our plot has a specified ridge direction, but there are no details about the roof shape in the development plan or planning permission. Do you think it’s possible to manage this somehow? Does anyone have experience with this? The architect said it should be possible...
Thanks

And we laypeople are supposed to know more than the architect?

There are registered architects and others here as well; their opinions are valuable. I am also asking for experiences... I do not want assumptions.

It ultimately depends on the exact development plan, the surroundings, and the building authority itself – and then the question remains: Don’t you trust your architect? Because that would be a bad sign...

I already mentioned that the development plan does not specify anything about the roof shape...
It only shows a line indicating the ridge direction.
However, I trust the architect; ultimately, it depends on the building authority, which will either approve or reject the building permit / planning permission.
I just want to gather information in advance—you know how it is!

Without knowing the building development plan in detail, your question cannot be answered. The architect owes you a design that can be approved. If the building development plan forms the basis of this design, it defines all the requirements. Deviations and exceptions from it are generally not allowed; they must then be applied for and justified. If there is no valid building development plan, the type and scope of the construction project must be coordinated with the authorities in a preliminary building enquiry according to §34 of the Building Code. Details of the building and planning regulations can be negotiated amicably between the designer and the authorities, with some room for interpretation.

You should trust the statements of your architect or hire another architect. However, no one can dispel a fundamental mistrust of architects or authorities.
