here is the situation: I want to paint my basement floor with Disbon 404. I was strongly advised to measure the moisture content in the screed before painting.
Here are the details about the screed:
* Cement screed, 50mm (2 inches) thick
* Applied to the basement floor at the beginning of October
* Has been drying there for over three months at a constant 20°C (68°F). However, the room itself is unheated.
The digital moisture measurement showed 2.65 CM-%. According to the Capriol datasheet, the screed should not exceed 4 CM-%.
In general, the moisture meter indicates that the screed is still too damp to install flooring. For flooring installation, the moisture level should be below 2 CM-%.
Would you paint the room now, or wait longer?
