Good evening,
We have a PVC floor in the kitchen (brown, looks like wood). Now there are small white spots all over (they look like drops that have fallen on the floor), as if some liquid has dissolved the color that we spilled at some point. Could someone tell me what kind of liquid this could be? It must be some kind of food, because the spots are found in front of the stove and the refrigerator. Thanks in advance for your answers.
Best regards,
chris

Bodenmann-115 Oct 2014 22:50Even PVC coverings must have chemical resistance, which is tested for household chemicals in a chemical resistance test. This includes substances such as coffee, blood, red wine, mustard, and so on.
I do not believe that the stains in front of the refrigerator or the stove were caused by food. Rather, I assume that the cleaning agents used on these appliances affected the flooring when dripping down.

Serena1990-110 Mar 2015 10:09Hello Mr. Bodemann,
I have been following your explanations with great interest. Similar stains appeared on my PVC flooring as well. At first, I also suspected oil or vinegar as the cause. Now I am cleaning our equipment and using solvents for that purpose. These could also be the triggers.

Bodenmann-118 Mar 2015 22:10Hello Serena1990
The easiest way is to check who the manufacturer of your flooring is and, of course, the exact type of flooring.
If you then visit the manufacturer’s website online, you will find technical information as well as care instructions.
Have fun!

Hannes1983-113 Jan 2016 08:39We also had a PVC floor in the kitchen. Soon, stains appeared on it that no one could explain. They must have been caused by some kind of solvent, origin unknown. I removed the floor, and now there are tiles installed.
This solved the problem.
