Hello everyone,
we received a quote today for our photovoltaic system.
Components:
Inverter — Sun2000 with 10 kW from Huawei
Battery storage — Luna2000 with 5 kWh from Huawei
Modules — 24x Luxor Fullblack double-glass panels with 425 Wp
The total price including installation and setup is 15,500 euros.
This is for a location near Karlsruhe.
The scaffolding is already in place at the house, so it does not need to be provided.
Is this price reasonable? Especially considering the components.
I have very little knowledge about photovoltaics.
Best regards, Kugelblitz

And how satisfied were you with the installation? Can you tell me the name of the company? Thanks I did the installation myself together with the company.
It was a family friend who owns the company.

It was a family friend who owns the company. You know the price is reasonable.

Yes, the price drop for photovoltaic systems is enormous. I believe it can and will get even cheaper. The rising interest rates for those who need financing, the strong stock market for those who can invest money, and the perceived lack of subsidies for bargain hunters (everyone has already gotten used to the removal of VAT, but not to the loss of some battery incentives...) are just three factors putting pressure on prices. These factors have emptied the order books of residential solar providers, which were still full 1.5 years ago. I had actually expected this downturn only around 2027/28, when retrofits have progressed so much that the market focuses mainly on new builds and renovations. You can be so wrong.
But prices will continue to fall because battery prices are dropping further and there is still some margin to reduce module prices. Mounting structures might increase slightly, and inverter prices should remain stable. Maybe I’m wrong again.
Is there still room for module price reductions? Do you have any information from private or professional experience? As far as I know, the modules from major Chinese manufacturers are already being sold at a loss (per unit) and are only profitable for them due to subsidies.
There will likely be significant developments in storage systems soon. The pace of progress is much faster than all experts had expected. Stationary batteries and those with sodium-ion technology are expected to hit the market shortly. To be precise, these technologies already exist, but they are not yet available here or for private customers.
The lower energy density is not as critical for home storage systems.

So, hold off on buying storage for now. Maybe one day we will be able to privately store all the energy we generate.I’m not an expert, but from what I’ve read, the storage will probably be integrated into the car. That would be ideal for us with electric vehicles.
