Hello,
2 1/2 weeks ago we sowed our lawn. The soil was dug up 25cm (10 inches) deep with a rototiller (removed quite a few stones!), then a little (not much!) sand and some topsoil were raked in.
The ground was leveled, rolled, grass seed applied with a spreader (plus a bit scattered by hand), raked in, and rolled again.
The soil has been kept consistently moist, watering up to 4 times a day during dry periods, etc.
After 2 1/2 weeks it looks like this, but there are still gaps and it’s not as dense as I expected.
Will it fill in more, do I need to be patient? Or should I improve it now by raking in new seed in some areas?

It always depends on the weather. Of course, it is always important to water properly and sufficiently. That is the most important thing.

The lawn already looks really great for such a short time. Give it time. And don’t pull on it – that won’t make it grow faster – LOL

When I planted mine, I reseeded after a few weeks because I was impatient. It then became dense. Whether this was due to the new seed or because the slower varieties eventually emerged, I don’t know. Depending on the area, I would reseed now or, if the area is larger, in about 2 weeks if nothing more has appeared.
