ᐅ Is the kitchen price reasonable? Alternative manufacturer?

Hello,

a Nobilia kitchen (Line N, handleless) has been planned with approximate dimensions of 290x345cm (115x136 inches). Unfortunately, an island does not fit in the space, as there also needs to be room for a dining table.

This is a condominium in a two-family house. It is possible that we will build or buy a house in 5–10 years and then rent out the apartment with the kitchen. For this reason, we have tried to plan the kitchen as cost-effectively as possible.

Base cabinets:
1x 50cm (20 inch) door with a small drawer
60cm (24 inch) stove
60cm (24 inch) dishwasher
65cm (26 inch) corner cabinet (blind)
3x 90cm (35 inch) drawers (50cm (20 inch) deep, as the slant creates a recess allowing a front with 3x90cm (35 inch) to be formed)

Wall cabinets:
1x 50cm (20 inch) with door
1x 60cm (24 inch) extractor hood (Elica, visually “disappears”)
3x 60cm (24 inch) with doors

Material for fronts and countertop: white concrete
3 LED spotlights
Black sink plus mixer tap
One of the drawers in the 90cm (35 inch) cabinets has another type of drawer integrated that can be separated at the push of a button. Difficult to explain.

The appliances are currently from Junker (stove, oven, and dishwasher). The dishwasher runs at 48dB. In a competitor's brochure we saw today, there was a Samsung dishwasher at 44dB for the same final price. We will need to discuss this again with the consultant. Reportedly, Junker is good quality and competitively priced compared to the usual brands (Neff, Samsung, Bosch, AEG, etc.). Possibly, an oven with a black front will be installed instead of stainless steel. The refrigerator is planned separately.

According to the consultant, the Line N does not have a drawer under the oven. We thought we saw one at an exhibition. Does anyone know? Unfortunately, there is no detailed product overview for the Line N available online.

The price including installation and appliances is 5700 euros, or 5900 euros if glass inserts are installed on the side panels of the drawers. For comparison: instead of 3x 90cm (35 inch) drawers, 3x 90cm (35 inch) cabinets with 6x 45cm (18 inch) doors would cost 5100 euros. However, we prefer the drawers.

What do you think of the price? Are there manufacturers with comparable quality at a lower price?

Best regards

PS: The color does not come out quite as nicely in the photo/printout.

Thank you very much for your detailed explanation. My parents also have Nobilia, I had one installed in a rental apartment, and so far we are both very satisfied.
I also find our design appealing. Unfortunately, the sloped ceiling is very steep, making the countertop hardly usable. It might be possible to place a few items there, but it’s definitely not enough space for a microwave or similar appliances.

We therefore need to consider whether to choose the kitchen with a cabinet height of 79cm (31 inches), although I think that will raise the price again, or if we should forgo the drawer below the stove. It seems there is no other option with the handleless design.

Why don’t you install the oven higher up? There seems to be space for a cabinet like that next to the door. That would instantly solve the drawer issue. See photos.

We had the same idea. However, we don't want a full-height cabinet right next to the door, as it might feel like a sort of "wall." We prefer the area to feel open and inviting.

The kitchen has been installed. Unfortunately, we have a few issues. Regarding the scratches, the comment was quite "amusing": they are located under the upper cabinets. Scratches in non-visible areas are not considered a reason for complaints, according to management. This was supposedly already confirmed by experts.

Is that really the case? One cabinet will apparently be replaced as a "gesture of goodwill." The frayed areas will probably be sanded again to achieve a clean finish. I had expected a different quality from Nobilia.

Here is another photo showing how the joint between the two countertops has been handled. This also needs to be reworked.

This probably happened during assembly. The countertop was simply not installed properly.

Submit all complaints in writing and avoid discussing the issues over the phone.
