ᐅ Is the kitchen price reasonable? Alternative manufacturer?

Hello,

a Nobilia kitchen (Line N, handleless) has been planned with approximate dimensions of 290x345cm (115x136 inches). Unfortunately, an island does not fit in the space, as there also needs to be room for a dining table.

This is a condominium in a two-family house. It is possible that we will build or buy a house in 5–10 years and then rent out the apartment with the kitchen. For this reason, we have tried to plan the kitchen as cost-effectively as possible.

Base cabinets:
1x 50cm (20 inch) door with a small drawer
60cm (24 inch) stove
60cm (24 inch) dishwasher
65cm (26 inch) corner cabinet (blind)
3x 90cm (35 inch) drawers (50cm (20 inch) deep, as the slant creates a recess allowing a front with 3x90cm (35 inch) to be formed)

Wall cabinets:
1x 50cm (20 inch) with door
1x 60cm (24 inch) extractor hood (Elica, visually “disappears”)
3x 60cm (24 inch) with doors

Material for fronts and countertop: white concrete
3 LED spotlights
Black sink plus mixer tap
One of the drawers in the 90cm (35 inch) cabinets has another type of drawer integrated that can be separated at the push of a button. Difficult to explain.

The appliances are currently from Junker (stove, oven, and dishwasher). The dishwasher runs at 48dB. In a competitor's brochure we saw today, there was a Samsung dishwasher at 44dB for the same final price. We will need to discuss this again with the consultant. Reportedly, Junker is good quality and competitively priced compared to the usual brands (Neff, Samsung, Bosch, AEG, etc.). Possibly, an oven with a black front will be installed instead of stainless steel. The refrigerator is planned separately.

According to the consultant, the Line N does not have a drawer under the oven. We thought we saw one at an exhibition. Does anyone know? Unfortunately, there is no detailed product overview for the Line N available online.

The price including installation and appliances is 5700 euros, or 5900 euros if glass inserts are installed on the side panels of the drawers. For comparison: instead of 3x 90cm (35 inch) drawers, 3x 90cm (35 inch) cabinets with 6x 45cm (18 inch) doors would cost 5100 euros. However, we prefer the drawers.

What do you think of the price? Are there manufacturers with comparable quality at a lower price?

Best regards

PS: The color does not come out quite as nicely in the photo/printout.

@K1300S ... this isn’t about a plinth drawer, which is also possible with the handleless 72.4cm (29 inches) high cabinet variant. It’s about a proper drawer located directly below the oven 😉.

The base drawer is also located directly below the oven. :p

But there would have to be a suitable cabinet for that, right? Otherwise, it would have to be custom-made. Also, I’m not sure how it would look visually if the baseboard is segmented.

Yes, there are cabinets specifically designed so that the drawer extends completely underneath the cooktop, theoretically even higher than the toe kick alone. These also have a front panel attached, so you can’t even tell that the drawer is taller than the toe kick. Try searching for "toe kick oven drawer."

We had an Ikea Faktum kitchen for the past nine years and have now switched to a Nobilia.
I know that Nobilia isn’t considered a top-tier manufacturer, but we definitely find the quality noticeably better than Ikea. We were never unhappy with our old kitchen; it had a good price-performance ratio and lasted a long time. However, the Nobilia feels more refined, higher quality, and even more solid overall. We would buy the brand again and love our kitchen very much.

Aside from that, I find your L-shaped layout very appealing. I hope the slant isn’t too steep; otherwise, it might make working there a bit more difficult. But overall, it looks very tidy. It doesn’t always have to be fancy or include an island. (says the woman with a huge island :cool 🙂

@K1300S ... as far as I know, this is not possible with the handleless version due to the limited front height below the oven. The fittings need space somewhere, and because of the feet, there is only room for an effectively about 40cm (16 inches) wide drawer, with the additional drawback of a divided toe kick, which is at least 15cm (6 inches) high with carcass heights of 72.4cm (28.5 inches) and therefore quite visible.
