Hello everyone,

I am planning to get the IKEA Brimnes furniture, but I am unsure if the assembly is suitable for complete beginners. My question is: Is the assembly of IKEA BRIMNES beginner-friendly?

I am especially interested in how clear the assembly instructions are, whether any special tools are required, and if it is possible to put it together without any professional knowledge.

So far, I have rarely assembled furniture myself and would like to avoid taking on a task that is too complicated. Perhaps someone here has experience with BRIMNES and can give me an assessment of how beginner-friendly it really is.

Thanks in advance for your opinions and tips!

The instructions from BRIMNES are well organized and include many pictures. You only need the included Allen key and a screwdriver. This is definitely doable for beginners, but allow yourself some time.

Here is an objective assessment on the topic ‘Is assembling the IKEA BRIMNES suitable for beginners?’:

IKEA furniture is often characterized by standardized, picture-based instructions, which make starting easier. In the case of BRIMNES, the documentation is clearly organized, the individual steps are logically structured, and supported by easy-to-understand pictograms.

- Required tools are minimal: an Allen key is included, and a simple Phillips screwdriver is recommended.
- The difficulty level is moderate. The individual parts are not too heavy to handle.
- Tip: Allow yourself enough space and time to avoid mixing up components.

Beginners without technical experience should be able to manage with some patience. If uncertainties arise, it is advisable to carefully read the instructions and follow them step by step.

I agree, the pictures really are the key when it comes to IKEA. Especially for beginners, you can follow them very well.

Of course, sometimes it can be a bit fiddly, but with BRIMNES you don’t have to worry about major obstacles. And hey, the Allen key is like a little friend in your pocket. 🙂

The important thing is to stay calm, and it will work out!

Sure, that is usually sufficient. I would also recommend sorting the components before starting. This helps avoid mix-ups and makes the assembly process more relaxed.
