ᐅ Is my heat pump from Alpha Innotec reliable?

Hello, I need to use this great forum again to learn!

In our new build (house with a granny flat / built in 2021), we had a groundwater heat pump from alpha innotec installed (6 boreholes in the garden).

We are generally satisfied, but after about 1.5 years of use, we are wondering if the heat pump is really good, since we "feel" that the electricity consumption is quite high.

First of all: On the data label on the heating unit, it says Qh / COP --- 5.06 kW / 4.87.
That sounds good at first, but if I understand correctly, those values don’t represent everyday performance, right?
So they don’t really say much, do they?

Now about consumption: Unfortunately, we don’t have a separate electricity meter for the heating system. It’s connected to the main electricity meter. So heating/hot water plus other electricity use (including that of our tenant) are all combined here and totaled 9500 kWh for the whole year 2022 (for 3 people, all working from home).

Now the probably unanswerable question: Can we be satisfied with this? Or should an energy consultant come and take another look?

Thanks and best regards
Daniel

The electricity meters integrated into heat pumps are usually just rough estimates. Often, the displayed values are calculated rather than measured.
Alpha Innotec does not install an electricity meter in the heat pumps I am familiar with. However, we do not know which model you have.

Okay, unfortunately, I’m not familiar with that.

Ours shows 2664 kWh and the meter 2779 kWh... yes, an estimate, but I think it’s sufficient for a rough check.

Thanks for your responses. I realize I need to provide more information. I’ll check what data the heating system itself makes available.

We have recently started using a Novelan (rebranded Alpha) brine heat pump and, according to the heating system, the following values were recorded: produced 3900 kWh heating energy compared to 600 kWh electricity, with monthly electricity costs of about 120-150€ (only heating, at 0.33€/kWh).

I’m not exactly sure from which year, but the Alpha Boy from commissioning said that the function/hardware? heat and electricity meters are mandatory.

If your heating system is integrated into the home network, it can be displayed there quite easily without having to search extensively on the device itself.
