Hello everyone,
We currently have the basement being built, a precast concrete basement.
From the raw floor to the start of the door opening for the basement door, it is 13cm, but with the complete floor build-up, it will be 18cm (7 inches).
The door opening is currently 2.20m (7 ft 3 in) high, and a 2.10m (6 ft 11 in) door is planned. If we reduce the bottom of the door opening by 5cm (from 13 to 18cm) (2 inches), it should still fit well with the clearance for installation.
I’ve read online that such reductions of door openings up to 10cm (4 inches) can be addressed using construction foam and cladding.
Would you recommend this as well, or should we hire a bricklayer/mason?
Best regards,
Christian

Well, if it leads outside, you can treat it like a front door. So the extension/frame widening, as suggested by @redtatoo, should be done to the correct, necessary size.Ok – thanks, and what if I already have the front door? So without any widening? ..Similar topics
