I hope you can help me.
We recently moved into a new build, and the current look of my front door handle and escutcheon is like this:
I would like to modify it to look like this.
I hope you understand what I mean. I would like to change the plate to a smaller one that only surrounds the handle and not the cylinder. Do you know if this is possible? Will there be holes left in the door? Does anyone know if the long plate I currently have is screwed in the middle?
Do you know how to remove this kind of handle and where I can get the small escutcheon?
Thanks in advance!

As for part 1, you’ll need to check yourself. The handle is often fixed with a grub screw, as shown in your example photo. The large escutcheon plate is probably just clipped on. You should be able to gently pry it off. Underneath, you’ll likely find the actual screws.
Unfortunately, I can’t say exactly what it will look like or if there is an unsightly screw fastening (which is common with front doors).
