ᐅ Is it advisable to place Kallax units on legs instead of directly on the floor?

Hello everyone, I have a question and would like to hear your opinions: Do you think it makes sense to put the IKEA Kallax shelving unit on legs instead of placing it directly on the floor? I’m referring to those small wooden or plastic feet that you screw or stick under the unit to raise the furniture slightly. I’m mainly interested in aspects like stability, ease of use, cleaning, and appearance. Could placing it on legs also affect load capacity or the ability to slide something under the shelf? I’d really appreciate it if some of you who have tried this could share your experiences. Thanks in advance!
Thank you for all the great suggestions so far! The issue of moisture and cleaning seems to me to be two very important reasons to use feet. Does anyone have tips on where to find suitable, affordable yet sturdy feet for Kallax? I don’t want to drill large holes into the shelf; I’d prefer to glue or screw them on, but in a way that allows them to be removed later without leaving any residue.
For a durable solution with load-bearing capacity, I recommend small furniture feet that can be screwed in. There are sets specifically designed for Kallax available on Etsy or at hardware stores. Some manufacturers also offer feet with mounting plates that can be installed without large holes; these often use screw adapters or clamp holders.

For a permanent solution with load-bearing capacity, I recommend small furniture feet that can be screwed in. That sounds reasonable, thank you. I’ll look for such sets and pay attention to the mounting options. Thanks to all of you for the helpful contributions. It has been very useful to me!
