EisvogelHello,
We will soon need a new heating system, or at least a new boiler.
What is the best way to proceed?
I am considering completely renewing the heating system or switching to wood.
Should I always hire an energy consultant first, or should I start by consulting the local heating technician?
I have some ideas but am not sure if all of them are feasible.
Can I assume that every energy consultant is knowledgeable about current heating systems if they are authorized to issue an energy certificate?
Best regards, Simon

There is also an energy agency near you in Baden-Württemberg. Start by visiting them and discussing your ideas; afterwards, you will have a lot more information and also know how to find a good energy consultant 😉
Best regards, Bauexperte

Eisvogel schrieb:Not necessarily, a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineer or building services engineer is usually more appropriate.
....Should you always hire an energy consultant...
Eisvogel schrieb:That should generally be the case. However, detailed planning specifics might not be fully covered. You do need an energy consultant to obtain the energy performance certificate.
