ᐅ Is an air conditioning system with heat pump functionality worthwhile?

Hello,

It has been quite warm lately, causing our house to heat up significantly. My spontaneous idea was to get a split air conditioning system, so I wanted to find out how much these units typically cost.

During my research, I came across inverter air conditioners that can also provide heating and are said to save energy costs compared to oil heating systems.

Does anyone have experience with these? Is it true that heating with them really saves energy? Is there perhaps a possibility to receive some kind of funding or subsidies, for example through KfW programs?

Thank you all!

To my shame, I have to admit that until now I had only been looking for inverters, and the stores only offered those.

I could be wrong, but I believe that nowadays – at least in the residential sector – only inverter technology is used.

The inverter is a basic variable frequency drive that can adjust the compressor power of the air conditioning system according to demand.

No more, no less.

The rest of the system is exactly the same as a "standard air conditioning unit."

Inverter systems can be controlled much more precisely, while standard ones can only be switched on or off. For extensive use of air conditioning, I would recommend inverter systems, although they are more expensive. Except for the cheapest models, all should be capable of heating. The compressor then simply runs in reverse.
