Hello.
Which type of dimmer would you install? A push-button dimmer or a rotary dimmer?
For us, it is mainly about ease of use. Since we have not used any dimmers so far, this small decision is a bit difficult for us...

Sure, I completely agree with you. The less manual interaction required, the more convenient the technology is. In many areas where the lighting is dimmed, we don’t have any physical switches or dimmers at all.

But when this thread is about choosing between A and B, then C might be the appropriate compromise.

What I notice:
There are some small differences that can make the same technique (turning or pressing) more or less practical.
Even the requirements for a light switch are not always the same. Different things matter to different people and in different situations.

Sure, there are so many options out there. One light switch is louder than another, or the plastic feels "off," and so on. The same applies to dimmers.

In our current apartment, we have a rotary dimmer installed behind a built-in wall. It is accessible around the corner on the side and controls the indirect lighting behind the wall. What really annoys me about it is that you have to press it quite firmly to turn the light on or off.

Yes, these things are different. Just choose the one you like best. After all, you look at it even when you are not using the switch. The rest is a matter of habit.
