Hello everyone,
my wife and I are planning to build a bungalow. The plot is almost purchased. Now we are slowly starting to think about what extras we want for our bungalow or what would be essential.

Topic: Roof Overhang
What is considered practical for a bungalow? I think with a flat building, having an excessive overhang doesn’t look very appealing visually, right? What are reasonable dimensions here (50 cm (20 inches)), and do these measurements include the gutter?

We would like to have a larger overhang in front of the main entrance. Ideally, the roof would extend at least 1.5 m (5 feet) there, with a maximum width of 3 m (10 feet). That would provide a nice sheltered space to temporarily park a stroller, for example. Is there a general estimate for the additional cost here? I understand that can be difficult to specify...

Thanks and best regards
Stephan
