ᐅ Is it practical to install a photovoltaic system on the west or east side of a building?

Hello,
we are wondering whether we should install a photovoltaic system on the roof in the near future. The empty conduits for it are already in place. However, we have a hipped roof. On the south side, there is just over 20m² (215 sq ft) available for the system. Would it make sense to also use the west (or east) side to increase the area, even if the sun doesn’t hit it at the optimal angle?

Yes, commissioning can be backdated in the MaStR. However, if I remember correctly, you don’t need the grid operator for the registration.
At the moment, I would keep calm until the political situation is clarified. There are already reports and talk of supply shortages due to Covid-19, so who can guarantee installation dates? In addition, module prices have already increased by 20%, so I would wait for things to settle.
Bad timing.

The feed-in tariff rate depends on the registration date, not the commissioning date. You can gain a few months there. The commissioning date countsCommissioning date:
The date of the initial commissioning is usually documented in the “commissioning protocol” issued by the system installer.
- The date of the initial commissioning of the unit is independent from the date of the first grid feed-in, the grid connection date, and the installation date of the meter. These dates do not need to be entered in the MaStR.

Bad timing. Today I received a call that my module delivery has been postponed from the end of March to mid-April. Everything else is available except for the modules. According to the call, depending on the manufacturer, deliveries may even be delayed until June…..
