ᐅ Is a Glass Enclosure as a Cozy Nook Financially Feasible?

Hello, I am currently in the planning phase of a loft conversion/remodel.
I have the following question:
Attached is a picture of a "glass box" used as a cozy corner. Is such a glass structure very expensive? Also, in terms of structural engineering, is it legally allowed? What are your thoughts? Thank you very much for your help/answers/ideas, etc.
Best regards,
Andi

We are creating a window seat, but more in the traditional sense, meaning that we will have a fixed glazing measuring 170cm x 170cm (67 inches x 67 inches) and will extend the wall inward by 60cm (24 inches) using drywall construction. This results in a normal-looking window from the outside, but with a frame deep enough to comfortably sit in and stretch out your feet. The window is located on the west side with an unobstructed view on the upper floor and will be flanked on both sides by bookshelves. This provides a wonderful spot for our library to read, listen to music, or simply relax while looking westward...

I am not familiar with the situation in Austria, but with the German Energy Saving Ordinance 2016, in my opinion, this would not be compatible. How would you even want to implement this idea in a roof conversion?

Why do you think that this is not compatible with the energy saving regulation @11ant

From the perspective of the energy saving regulation, I don’t see a problem if it is done correctly. It still remains energetically nonsense. [emoji23]

The idea is a typical photo beauty. Just as attractive as architect-designed houses with glass surfaces covering more than 60%

I only think about the greasy marks left when you press your head against the cold glass pane.

During my vacation, I had a seating area by the window. At first, it was quite romantic, but eventually, I preferred to move to the sofa. Over time, it became rather uncomfortable.
