ᐅ Is it practical to have a desk positioned in front of a window?

In our new house, there is a study/hobby room. I would like to place a desk/workbench across the entire width in front of the window (2.68 m, 8.8 ft) to use both my PC and my sewing machine there.
But now this doesn’t seem very practical. I would have to move everything forward to clean the window. Or would it be better to have two desks with a walkway left in the middle?
I look forward to your examples.

Alternatively, split the desk and place it on both the right and left walls.

If you install external blinds on the window, it works. I have the same setup; the window isn’t very wide. Sewing machine in front, PC to the side. From April/May to September, I keep the blind down and tilted about 95% of the time to avoid glare. South-facing window 😉
But I like the way the light comes in that way.
For the rest of the year, I have nice natural light without needing a lamp.
Of course, you have to move everything aside to clean the window. But that’s no problem—2 machines and 1 lamp is manageable. It also encourages a bit of tidying up 😉 and I don’t clean the windows that often anyway.
I have a continuous worktop, which is sturdy enough to stand on.
