Hello,
I just came across this forum through a search engine. There are already some interesting new insights for me.

I also have a question:

We are planning to start building our house in spring. I am considering equipping our house with ventilation units.

I am currently looking closely at devices from Ventomaxx, GF-Sol-Air, or Inverter. Some operate in pairs. Others offer supply and exhaust air functions or solar-powered operation.

My questions:
1. Does anyone here have experience with these devices?
2. Do they produce a lot of noise? This is important for the bedroom.
3. Are there any devices I might have overlooked?

Thank you very much for your comments.
Best regards

Hello,

My friend owns a passive house with virtually no external energy use. He has a conservatory made of wood, which is a closed-off space. He grows orchids there and needs cool but also humid air. For this reason, he had a dedicated ventilation system installed. It is the "Paul" system from Germany with heat recovery and an airflow capacity of 120 m³ (around 4,240 ft³).

He only runs it at the lowest setting, and even then it can be heard. If the room were larger, the system would have to run at a higher speed, which would be significantly louder. Therefore, this ventilation system is completely unsuitable for a bedroom.

Hello Kurt1985,
Thank you very much for your quick response. I have looked at the website of this German company, and now I need to know if they also deliver to Switzerland.

Hello Ricardo,
I have no experience with the devices you mentioned. I know an eco ventilator, and there is one on every floor. They are really good.

Hello Ricardo,
Some time ago, I looked into this. I bought a GF-Sol-Air unit to test it. Although it isn’t very visually appealing, it can only be recessed 6cm (2.4 inches) into the wall, and 5cm (2 inches) sticks out. I had it partly in the bedroom, and even at the lowest setting, you could hear some noise. So, it’s not suitable for that room. I might use the unit in my hobby basement instead.

A central ventilation system definitely improves air quality, I have no doubt about that. However, for me, the costs are simply too high. I also cannot accept the background noise. I am looking for other solutions.
