Hello everyone. I have another question for you experts.
It’s about our interior window sills. Normally not a difficult topic. However, we are currently converting an old cattle barn into a residential house, so our construction is not the usual setup.
From the outside, the structure is as follows:
Brick veneer
Cavity
24cm (9.5 inches) sand-lime brick wall
Insulation
New aerated concrete interior wall
How can I create a proper, level support? I have attached a photo. This is a deep window. For the tall windows, I also have the additional problem that the insulation is, of course, not Styrofoam but Isover thermal insulation, which is obviously not load-bearing. Also, from the new interior wall to the window sill, we need to extend a few centimeters (inches). I suppose a strip of aerated concrete must be glued on there, right?
I look forward to your answers.
