Dear forum members,

I am about to place an order of over 1000 EUR for Alpenkalk products (approximately for 500 m² (5400 sq ft) of primer and 600 m² (6500 sq ft) of paint plus some accessories). Normally, I like to do some research beforehand.

So: Does anyone have practical experience with this?
How are the delivery times, quality, customer service in case of issues, coverage, color fastness, paintability, odor, and abrasion resistance?
What alternatives would you recommend and why?

Thanks and best regards

Hmm, participation here is quite low.
I have placed the order now and will report back...

So, we used KEIM for everything here.
By now, an important factor for me would be that I can return paint (possibly with a small fee) AND that I can quickly reorder paint as needed.
This issue has come back to me for the second time now.

So the Alpine lime paint is always available within a few days and remains usable for several years after opening, so these reasonable conditions were also met for me...

The same happened with Keim here, but then I suddenly needed 5 liters of one color, and that’s when the hectic search started. Fortunately, a building materials supplier offered this mixing service. For us, waiting 2-3 days wouldn't have been an option—twice. The day before yesterday, I urgently ordered chalk time, since this product is hardly ever sufficiently stocked by retailers. Due to incorrect delivery information, I ended up driving 170 km (105 miles) in the morning just to pick it up for the weekend.

As I said, this might have been only my problem, but it came to mind because it is a current issue here.

Alright, if it really comes down to hours, it gets difficult. Alpenkalk advertises that orders placed by 11 a.m. are handed over to DHL the same day, which usually means delivery the next day. But of course, this is not guaranteed, and from what I understand, Alpenkalk operates almost like a direct distribution. It is only carried by a very limited number of retailers.

On the other hand, I like to think that I can anticipate whether I’ll need more in advance, or that I have simply overordered according to the calculations. Well, we’ll see...
