Hello forum community,

after our interior doors were delivered and installed, I am quite surprised to see that the latch/bolt is made of plastic. This seems to be standard with several general contractors, but it was not even part of the samples we reviewed. What is the advantage, apart from it looking cheap?

Cheaper to manufacture and less prone to wear.

Just checked... it’s the same for us... I had never noticed it until now 🙂

Same here. No problems for 5 years.

I just took a look as well :p: it’s all metal. But since I didn’t really know that, I think it would be an overstatement to say it looks cheap. Nobody really pays attention to that!

For us, metal, but it doesn’t matter.
