we have a small problem here:
We have a waxed cork floor in the bedroom that no longer looks good in some areas. Some spots have become very light due to heavy use (for example, right by the door—wear marks).
Is there a way to clean the floor thoroughly with simple means and then re-wax (or oil) it? It should be done as quickly as possible and contain no toxic substances, as I am currently pregnant and expecting my baby in the next few days.
Thank you very much in advance for your help!

@ "hausbaumaus20":
Fears about toxins in building materials are unfounded. For many years, materials that negatively affect human health have been prohibited indoors.
So please don’t let people without background knowledge unsettle you.
What you are describing is typical for a worn surface protection. Since the cork flooring (as you mentioned) was oiled/waxed, this should not be a problem to fix by re-oiling. I suggest you get a container of an oil/wax blend from a flooring supplier and lightly soak a linen cloth with it.
The affected areas should recover quickly not only visually but also dirt particles will be removed through the—let’s call it—a “light wiping process” when applying the new oil.
Best regards: KlaRa
