Hello forum users,

I am currently building a shed measuring 6 x 4 meters (20 x 13 feet), which will have a flat roof. Yesterday, my roofer told me that it would have been better to pour the roof slope into the ring beam from the start (I poured the ring beam a week ago).

Since it is no longer possible to do this afterward, he wants to lay a beam on one side of the building, on which the rafters will be mounted. Because the roof will be insulated between the rafters and an OSB board will be screwed to the underside of the rafters, the question now is how to insulate and cover the support beam? From the outside, I plan to build a soffit box.

Since it’s Friday evening, I didn’t want to bother my roofer with this now, but the question is bothering me.

Do you have any ideas?

Thank you
