Hello everyone,
I have the following wall construction:
Ground floor: brick 175mm (7 inches), mineral wool 120mm (5 inches), air gap 15mm (0.6 inches), facing brick 105mm (4 inches).
Upper floor: brick 175mm (7 inches), external insulation system (EIFS / external thermal insulation composite system) 135mm (5.3 inches).
What is the best way to insulate the window reveals? Can I use XPS (extruded polystyrene) reveal boards with the EIFS on the upper floor, even though the EIFS insulation is made of mineral wool? Or should the same insulation material be used throughout?
How do you best create a transition between the EIFS and the facing brick insulation? We want to use mineral wool boards behind the facing bricks, and also mineral wool in the EIFS, but the EIFS boards will be a different type than the simple attachable boards behind the facing bricks. Do you have any reference websites or resources for me?
