Hello,
we are planning to install a 180mm (7 inches) polyurethane rafter-over insulation on our roof (new build), because we want the rafters and the sheathing to remain visible.
The roof has an overhang of 1m (3.3 feet) on all sides, and over the terrace even 3.5m (11.5 feet) as it is a covered terrace. It is a simple gable roof with a 35° pitch.
The total roof area is 204m² (2,195 sq ft), of which the roof area above the living space is only 130m² (1,399 sq ft). Is it possible to insulate only this area? Or does the rest of the roof also have to be insulated (due to height differences)? (That would be over 2,500 euros more expensive)
Thanks and best regards
