Hey,

I had a technician come by today to service the heat pump.

He informed me that the existing pipe insulation here is insufficient. Before reporting this as a defect, I wanted to get your opinion. The gray pipes are just over 1cm (0.4 inches) thick, apparently 13mm (0.5 inches) according to the marking. The light gray ones are only 9mm (0.35 inches) thick. In his view, this is far too thin; at the company where he works, or for home builders, such thin insulation would not be used. The second gray vertical pipe from the front is noticeably thicker than the other three. This allows much more heat loss into the room compared to thicker insulation.

I’m looking forward to your feedback on how you see this. Thanks!

I once had a table with the required dimensions, and I believe more than 1 cm (0.4 inches) was not necessary. Basically, when it comes to heating, it doesn’t really matter... it still works without insulation since the pipes are not located on the outside.
