Hello everyone!

I own a condominium and constantly have to deal with the property management, which regularly issues pointless work orders to contractors, unnecessarily driving up costs.

Now to my question. The building is just under 10 years old, fully basemented, and the basement was insulated on the outside during construction. The temperature does not drop below 15°C (59°F) even in winter.

Today I noticed that the gas meter (located in this basement) has been insulated with mineral wool. I don’t understand the purpose of this measure. I have never seen a gas meter insulated for thermal reasons before.

Are there any regulations about when a gas meter must be thermally insulated? Does anyone know the acceptable operating temperatures?

Best regards,
Michael
