I have now had three contractors come to seal our garage roof, and I have received three different opinions and price quotes.
For a 6x6 meter (20x20 feet) garage, the prices range from 1400 to 3800 euros.
I just want a watertight garage that doesn’t develop mold inside.
What is the correct method for sealing a garage roof?
Are two layers of bitumen enough?
Is a layer of insulation required in between?
Is a vapor barrier needed?
How was it done in your case?

Back to the topic: our roof was waterproofed today.
1 layer of black coating
1 layer of PYE 200S5
1 layer of V60 S4
The Hörmann garage door is also installed.
The door offered comes with 20mm (0.8 inches) insulation at an amazing price.
We will install the door on Monday, and the windows are expected to be delivered in 2-3 weeks.

The plastering will be done on Monday or Tuesday.
But the roofer who was supposed to install the parapet simply hasn’t gotten back to me; it seems he miscalculated with 600 euros.
So I looked for someone new...
And now here’s something driving me crazy again: the cheapest quote is 1,300 euros, and the most expensive is 4,300 euros for the same job.
What kind of workload can that be? 8 hours max, right?
Material costs around 600 euros at the local building supplier, and at most 400 euros on eBay.
That means the most expensive option is over 300 euros per hour. Only their own fault if they studied psychology for 8 years and end up making only 80–100 euros.
I’d rather do it myself.
