As we’re getting close to the final details of our planned single-family house, a friend of mine recently suggested looking into insulation for the interior window reveals.
I’m aware that nowadays there are special insulations to keep the stone window sills from getting too cold. But what about insulating the inner window reveals? Is it practical? How feasible is it? Have you heard of this or maybe even retrofitted it yourself as a DIY project?
I’d like to hear your thoughts, because it’s probably no secret that the window reveals are definitely colder than the regular interior walls. My friend had mold problems in his house (built in the ’90s) in a relatively humid bedroom, specifically in that area.
Best regards

Interior insulation is not necessary and can even be detrimental. There is a risk of mold growth, among other issues. With proper exterior insulation and correct installation of windows, no problems are to be expected.
