Hello
I am planning a project to renovate our old pigsty.
Unfortunately, the room is not very tall, with a height of only 2.10 m (6 ft 11 in).
The foundation consists of about 50 cm (20 inches) thick concrete.
The ceiling is also a 40 cm (16 inches) thick concrete slab with steel beams.
It would be possible to insulate the ceiling from above with mineral wool.
However, the floor would have to be raised, which would reduce the already limited height even further.
My question now is whether extra insulation is necessary at all with such massive, thick concrete.
If more than 3 cm (1 inch) of insulation is needed on the foundation floor, I would reconsider the project.
Thank you very much in advance for your advice. Best regards
