How can I insulate my attic apartment to reduce the heat during summer?

Does anyone have any tips?

I am planning to redo the interior roof insulation soon, removing the old 1980s insulation which still has an aluminum foil layer.

Hello, did you install an underlay membrane beneath the roof tiles? That is very important. Also, how thick are the rafters? I used WLG032 for the insulation between the rafters. Equally important is the vapor barrier. There are also significant differences between types of glazing in roof windows; some keep the heat out better than the cheaper ones, though I’m not sure about the exact specifications.
