Hello everyone,

I would like to install a water connection from the bathroom to the adjacent room in our apartment.

The water connection will be used about twice a week for washing hair, approximately 5 minutes each time.

I was thinking of using a T-fitting and installing a valve to shut off the water. I plan to run the pipe using 2-meter (6.5 feet) flexible hoses, connected and sealed with hemp fiber and so on. A cable conduit will be used to keep everything stable.

What do you think about this setup? Do you think it can work the way I envision it?

Thank you in advance 🙂

Best regards,

... and where would the drain be?
Is this your own apartment or a rental?

I don’t think this is allowed, since the intended use of the room is different and therefore it doesn’t have a suitable subfloor or screed sealing.
Washing your hair for 5 minutes uses a lot of water—where should the approximately 50 liters (13 gallons) go?

Kind of a crazy idea, isn’t it? 🙂

Best regards in brief

I expected this question to come up but thought it was not relevant to my post.

The landlord is informed and agrees (I live in Switzerland, where people still help each other).

The wastewater goes into a designated old chemical container with a 200-liter (53-gallon) capacity.

Everything is already fully planned! At the moment, it is being operated with a mobile hairdresser’s washbasin.

I would be very grateful if the next responses would focus on my question.

Thanks again in advance.

Regarding traditional shower hoses, I am only aware of leakage issues occurring at kinks, which can be avoided with a “fixed” installation. I know someone who has subdivided several old buildings into worker apartments and used hoses as heating pipes in many places without any problems.

And here in a German forum, people help out when the original poster is brief with their explanations – then the surrounding circumstances are examined as well 😉
