agu666Hello,
this concerns the installation of a Utdrag extractor hood into a 60x40 cm (24x16 inches) horizontal wall cabinet. There is a diagram in the manual that we do not fully understand, specifically this one:

Depending on the choice, the further assembly changes (especially the attachment of the brackets to the side panels for the offset bottom panel of the wall cabinet).
Unfortunately, the only difference we can see between the two photos is this odd gray line at the bottom edge of the door on the right image. Since we cannot identify what this is supposed to represent or whether it concerns us, we visited IKEA (Berlin-Lichtenberg) again today, where neither two kitchen department employees nor the service technician currently working on another kitchen installation in the showroom could help us.
So, what is that marking on the door supposed to indicate, and why would new holes have to be drilled in the side panels for the brackets?
Also, when using recirculation mode, does the exhaust duct have to be routed out of the cabinet, or can it end inside the cabinet? The cabinet will not be used for anything else.
Thank you in advance!

IKEA-Experte7 Apr 2016 19:01Hello, this is a door with a handle rail like VOXTORP. On these doors, the hinge holes are positioned higher. If the bracket were fixed in the hole, the hinge could no longer be installed there.

lars6819911 Jan 2017 07:58Which end of the NYTTIG exhaust duct is supposed to connect to the range hood? One end of the duct has a section with a smaller diameter. Also, how did you cut the hole for it in the cabinet? I used a jigsaw according to the instructions to cut a fairly uneven 130mm (5 inch) hole, which obviously didn’t fit the duct right away. Although the duct actually seems to have a diameter of about 135mm (5.3 inches), even though the official sizes are only 120mm (4.7 inches), 125mm (4.9 inches), and 150mm (6 inches).
