Hello fellow home builders,

we have started constructing a single-family house. The approved building permit / planning permission includes a gas heating system, which we still want to install.

There are two possible scenarios:

1. What happens if the heating system is installed in October 2023, but the house is only inspected and approved in February 2024?

2. What happens if the heating system is installed in January 2024, and the house is inspected and approved in May 2024?

Both options are difficult to plan for. So far, we do not know whether the construction schedule might be delayed.
I haven't found any information on this. Do you have any further details?

Regards,

What is the general opinion on gas heating in new buildings nowadays? 😀

Well, I think the idea of a gas heating system in a new build is nonsense. 😀

Ultimately, relying on gas heating in new buildings is a bet that the future will focus more on Power-to-Gas technology rather than extensively upgrading electricity distribution networks and building power plants that only operate in winter because little electricity is needed for heat pumps in summer.

The exclusive focus on heat pumps is driven by ideology from the Greens, who allow no alternatives. However, this could quickly change if the next government, for example, is led by the CDU.

I have been a Green voter for many years, but this narrow-mindedness of the Greens in many areas will lead me to vote for the Yellow party in the next election.

PS: There are still millions of gas heating systems in existing buildings. We simply cannot afford to let gas prices skyrocket. As nice as this debate is here, those living on minimum wage or single parents with two children cannot afford to buy a heat pump. They also cannot manage the rent increase if the landlord carries out extensive renovations. These debates completely miss about 80% of the population.

However, gas and oil prices cannot continue as they have so far. CO2 taxation will have to increase. It must! Because the Federal Constitutional Court has made it clear that our current actions are significantly disadvantaging future generations, and this cannot continue.

Gas heating in new buildings only makes sense with liquid gas, considering preparedness. Connecting to the gas grid doesn’t make sense; it’s better to go with an air-to-water heat pump instead. I would wait for that, as these units will become significantly more affordable soon.

I see it a bit differently: There are cases that require a review process where the expected outcome is known in advance. Take our @Bookstar87, for example: He already knows exactly what happened, how, and why, and who was involved. It was even reported in the “Welt.” Now the official investigation just needs to confirm exactly that. Otherwise, it will only prove once again how we’re all being fooled.

Anyone who is open-minded needs to get as much raw data as possible, think independently, and consider different perspectives. And then also reflect on themselves—because sometimes your own position might be among the wrong ones.

And some of those who manage this still fail to place absolute numbers into relative contexts. But whose responsibility is that?

Funny, you vastly underestimate my level of information. I have analyzed all the raw data and reviewed many studies. From this, I conclude that the “Welt” was by far the closest to the facts. Newspapers like Tichy or Achgut are considered less credible by most, even though concerning COVID-19, they were closer to the truth than Die Zeit or Süddeutsche. Journalism has seriously damaged its own credibility for a long time. Christina Bernd from Süddeutsche even received an award for her fake news. A topsy-turvy world.

For example, in 1974 Der Spiegel reported, based on scientific evidence, that an ice age and many decades of cool summers were approaching. Of course, that was nonsense.
