Hello everyone,
I hope this is the right forum section 🙂
We are currently planning a single-family house and are in the process of fitting the kitchen. We have encountered a problem as we still need to find a place for the kitchen light switch.
My question is whether it is technically possible to install sockets and light switches on the narrow end of a 17.5 cm (7 inches) aerated concrete wall, and whether this is even allowed. Please refer to the attached image for a detailed illustration.
If this is not feasible, we would have to shorten our kitchen unit slightly to create some free wall space.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Sure, it’s doable and also permitted.
But honestly, it doesn’t look very nice.
I wouldn’t end the kitchen so tight against the wall either. Presumably, there is meant to be a tall cabinet or something similar there.
Is it not possible to extend the wall a little bit further? The kitchen is currently set back about 5cm (2 inches) from the edge of the wall.
In the drawing, our architect only sketched a rough outline of how it should look, which is why the measurement shows flush.
Unfortunately, extending the wall is not possible, as it would then protrude too far into the room.
