Hello everyone,

We need to inform our electrician tomorrow about the height at which the cable for the awning should come out of the exterior wall.

The awning will be 3m (10 feet) wide with a projection of 3.5 to 4 meters (11.5 to 13 feet). Is 260cm (8 feet 6 inches) from the finished floor level a suitable height? Unfortunately, we haven’t chosen an awning yet and won’t be able to do so before tomorrow. Hopefully, this will still work. 🙂

Thank you very much for your advice

Our awning has quite a steep slope, so you have to duck at the end to avoid hitting your head.
Therefore, I would say it should be installed as high as possible.
You probably already have an idea of approximately where the awning will be mounted.

They say not to go below 2.60m (8 ft 6 in), because with a typical 15% slope over a length of 4m (13 ft), there will still be a clearance height of 2.0m (6 ft 7 in).

The first thing that comes to mind for me is installation on the intermediate ceiling.
