Hello,

Has anyone here installed vinyl flooring themselves, and if so, how did it go?

We want to install vinyl planks in our house and have already chosen them. I will contact the seller again soon, but I would be happy to read some personal experiences here!

Hello, it would be great if you could update me on the status of the complaint. We have a similar issue with the same flooring:

Since Thursday, there has been no response from the manufacturer.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen area, the edge joints are sticking up, and the floor creaks every time it is stepped on. Today is not very warm either, which causes the floor to swell due to the underfloor heating.

I will definitely keep you updated, @michaelbln.

There is a clearance sale of this type of flooring online. It is being sold with NEO-Lay impact sound insulation and matching moldings at incredibly low prices.

For general information:

Yesterday, we were fortunate to meet a representative from Classen at our dealer’s showroom. The young man promptly took on our case! Unfortunately, Massivhaus Mittelrhein had not managed to send the required reports to Classen until yesterday.

However, we also received the latest information about our flooring: the installed floor, NEOWood 1.0, contains wood mixed in the core. The floor has now been improved to NEO 2.0, with stone powder used in the core. The issues with version 1.0 are said to be resolved with this update.

Whether this is true, we cannot assess yet, as our complaint has not been fully resolved.

If we receive a replacement floor, we will report back.

The latest correspondence with the manufacturer of our vinyl flooring gives us the impression of incompetence combined with attempts to stall the customer by repeatedly asking new, additional questions and demanding various types of reports until the customer becomes frustrated or exhausted and gives up.

After submitting photos and reports, filling out various questionnaires, and answering several additional questions by email and in person at our retailer, we received another email today.

This email not only requests all previously provided information again… but now also asks us to specify the exact characteristics of the vapor barrier used. Oops:
The recommended vapor barrier from the manufacturer Classen was used! This information can be found in one of the questionnaires as well as in an email.
So Classen is expecting us to explain the construction of their product!
How charming!

Tomorrow, we will visit the retailer one last time, as they are our contractual partner.
This evening, we decided to hire an expert and, if necessary, will seek legal representation.

Wow, I am so frustrated!

Oh no, that’s really unfortunate! I’m sorry you’re facing such a big issue.

Do you think this could happen with all vinyl floors? We’re planning to have a vinyl floor installed in the kitchen as well (glued down, but not from Classen, rather from Wineo).
