Hello,

Has anyone here installed vinyl flooring themselves, and if so, how did it go?

We want to install vinyl planks in our house and have already chosen them. I will contact the seller again soon, but I would be happy to read some personal experiences here!

Good evening everyone,

The samples have arrived, and we are confident about the installation. We have chosen the Parador Trendtime 6.30 wide plank flooring in Oak Skyline Pearl Gray, measuring 2200 x 216 x 9.6 mm (7 ft 3 in x 8.5 in x 0.38 in). Currently, the best price is €26.00 per m² (per square meter).

We will also need baseboards. What underlays have you used? We have underfloor heating and a cement screed. Would Parador Acoustic-Protest 200 be necessary, or is the Parador PE foil sufficient with the cork impact sound insulation?

Thank you very much.

You can use any PE foil – there is nothing better from Parador.

I only use that – everything else would probably be overkill for the flooring, according to Parador’s technical advice to me.

Thanks, Sebastian.
Then I'll just get a vapor barrier.

What percentage more did you order for the floor to account for waste?

5 percent – but I can always catch up later.

Yes, you're right. Thank you.
I will calculate the length in meters (feet) of the baseboards now.

I see the flooring has convinced you, a good choice.

Also, remember to order some adhesive tape. For the membrane, add an overlap of about 30cm (12 inches).

And you know, the result would then look great.
