Hello,

Has anyone here installed vinyl flooring themselves, and if so, how did it go?

We want to install vinyl planks in our house and have already chosen them. I will contact the seller again soon, but I would be happy to read some personal experiences here!

I bought Parador – it is also available with a V-groove.

I’ll be straightforward. Good quality simply costs money. You can always find cheaper options, but that’s literally cheaper.
The quality differences can be quite significant.
Consider the construction of the flooring, such as the core material, wear layer, and so on. The click systems also vary.
By groove, you probably mean a continuous V-groove around the plank.
My advice would be to visit a specialized dealer, look at different flooring options, feel them, and get professional advice. Haro is definitely one of the leading manufacturers, but there are certainly others that also deliver good quality.
Ordering online (if I interpret your post correctly) is not always the ideal solution.

Sebastian, I will take a look at it shortly. Thank you very much for this.

Sigi, don’t take this the wrong way. I’m also paying €38.90 per m² (approximately $39.50 per sq ft). My local supplier wants €41.93 per m² (about $42.55 per sq ft) for the same flooring. A difference of €3 per m² (around $3 per sq ft) over 130 to 140 m² (approximately 1,400 to 1,500 sq ft) is a significant amount, which I’m not willing to spend when free delivery options are available.

We have seen some with a perimeter V-groove, but unfortunately, it wasn’t as pronounced as with Haro. However, as I said, I already have a good offer.

Take a look at Parador (my favorite when it comes to flooring) and check out the Basic Plus, Classic, and Trendtime lines.

If I may add a comment about V-grooves, I would think twice about them, as much as they look nice. They tend to collect dirt easily and can become unattractive quite quickly if they are not maintained thoroughly.

Thanks again. Yes, Parador will be my evening reading today.
We are aware of the "problem" with the V-joint, and it was also mentioned by the dealer.

Thank you

By the way, we had chosen the Classic 2030 model.
