Hello,

Has anyone here installed vinyl flooring themselves, and if so, how did it go?

We want to install vinyl planks in our house and have already chosen them. I will contact the seller again soon, but I would be happy to read some personal experiences here!

Hello, yes, we installed click vinyl flooring in the hallway and the utility room. It was installed in the same way as laminate, but cutting was a bit more difficult because the vinyl is thicker than laminate and requires more force to cut through.

Is vinyl thicker than laminate?

You have probably installed a luxury vinyl plank with a vinyl surface. It is sturdier than laminate.

Vinyl for glue-down installation or click-lock vinyl is much thinner than laminate. Vinyl is cut with a knife and then bent at the cut edge. We had the chance to try this.

So far, we haven’t installed it, only chosen it. We haven’t ordered it yet either, as we still have two months before installation.

One of our neighbors is very happy with theirs. However, it was installed by a professional company.

@Mel-Ani: Do you have underfloor heating? Which company will be doing your installation?

Hello, oh dear, I completely forgot the crucial detail. It will be a vinyl flooring from Joka that needs to be glued down – so no click system and not self-adhesive either.
And yes, it will be installed over underfloor heating.

Which vinyl flooring did you end up choosing? (Manufacturer and design)
@EveundGerd and @Mel~Anie?

We are currently considering options for the kitchen.

Either the manufacturer Wineo Purline bio floor or Wineo design floor,
or the manufacturer Designflooring.

What would you recommend here?
