Guido198014 Feb 2021 14:21Hello,
the heating engineer has installed the supply and exhaust ventilation pipes through the sloping roof beneath the vapour barrier membrane. Although this will still be insulated and covered by the drywall, is this acceptable or could it cause a thermal bridge or create a potential weak spot for mold growth in the pipes?

Everything needs to be redone, and the fresh air supply will now come through the exterior wall. Each supply and exhaust duct of the mechanical ventilation system is in the sloped roof area, and so far there have been no problems there. We have only been living in the house since the end of November.

We’ve only been living in the house since the end of November. So, do you now also have the ducts installed in the sloped ceiling?
I have two recent pictures here to help visualize the setup better!
Is this okay?

Is the central mechanical ventilation system installed in the attic?20 cm (8 inches) of insulation between the rafters with a thermal conductivity class of 035, and the mechanical ventilation system is located in the basement in the utility room with intake and exhaust vents on the exterior wall near the top of the basement wall.

If there is no exterior insulation above the rafters (also called "counter batten insulation"), the pipes are almost directly against the building envelope.
That doesn’t sound good to me at all!
