Hello everyone,

I have recently moved and planned to take my ex-girlfriend’s kitchen with me.
Emphasis on ex. We informed the landlord that we wanted the stove connection on the right and the water connection on the left. This was installed accordingly, but now I am being given a kitchen where everything is on the left side. So I would need to call the landlord and ask him to move the stove connection back to the left. However, he has laid the cable under the tiles, so a simple change is no longer possible.

Now my question to you experts: what options do I have? Can I use an extension to go from right to left? Is that even allowed? The main stove connection is currently coming from the wall on the right. I would connect to that and then run the connection from right to left, of course properly secured with a cable duct.

What else could I do? I thought about calling the landlord to ask about the electrician, and maybe I’m lucky and the cable for the stove starts above or below the tiles, because my previous tenant had the connection there and then extended it to the right. In that case, I would only need to open that junction, disconnect the extension, and connect my stove directly from there on the left.

Ideally, I would simply like to relocate the connection from right to left 🙁

I would really appreciate any tips or advice.

Best regards,
Bob

What do you mean by "right" and "left"? One long row with those positions at the ends? Or are there two rows, and you mean one row and then the other? Maybe make a rough sketch and include approximate distances as well?

If it’s one row, that sounds potentially doable to me; with two rows, probably less so, but I’m not an electrician.

The previous tenant had the stove connection on the "left," and now it is on the "right."

The wall stretches 2.66 meters (8 feet 9 inches) from left to right, in case that might still be relevant...

Our landlord had the electrician extend the high-voltage connection for the stove using an "extension cable" behind the baseboard. It cost us about 150 euros around six years ago. I assume this was done correctly since it was carried out by a professional company.
