Hello everyone,
I need to create a partition in my basement, and due to the materials to be stored there, it must be built to F30 fire resistance. A solid construction is unfortunately not possible. Building the wall with drywall to achieve F30 is no problem: aluminum studs with mineral wool insulation, double layer of drywall, and done.
However, the door is causing me some trouble... I can’t find any instructions or tips on how to install a T30 fire door (Padilla Innova T30) in such a drywall partition. Without the appropriate door, the whole F30 rating is lost.
But I’m sure I have seen this done before, so it must be possible...? Does anyone have any advice or tips? I want to avoid the door breaking away from the wall after repeated use... ;-)
Thanks in advance!
Felix

What I quickly found is that the door you want is not suitable for drywall partitions. This is a door designed for masonry and concrete walls. This is also stated in the scope of use in the AbZ. You need a door that is approved for drywall partitions.
Note: The profiles in the drywall partition are not made of aluminum but steel.

I have also read in another forum that it doesn’t matter which door is installed there (since the fire department will open it anyway during firefighting). But I somehow can’t quite believe that this is actually the answer. Once the door is installed and the fire safety inspection takes place, it would be extremely inconvenient if the door were a reason for a complaint.
