Chris19906 Aug 2021 09:24Hello everyone,
we are currently building and are almost finished. Unfortunately, it occurred to us late that we still want partitions in the showers. Our site manager said it is too late for that and such partitions cannot be installed afterwards because the bathroom has already been tiled and otherwise the waterproofing would not hold properly.
I am not an expert and wanted to ask if this is true. We do not want glass enclosures.
Thank you very much

hampshire6 Aug 2021 09:33The statement from the contractor is nonsense; otherwise, there would be no retrofit solutions available. He simply doesn’t want to or doesn’t have the time for it. Just don’t expect it to be a cheap solution.
We had shower partitions installed in our terraced house by a glazier and have had zero problems in 18 years. The glazier was less expensive than a plumber. Considering arranging the partitions independently.

Chris19906 Aug 2021 10:13What material did you have it made from? May I ask how much extra you paid?

hampshire6 Aug 2021 10:48Metal stops, a partition, and a glass door with a rubber seal strip at the bottom. Very simple. We drilled through the tiles for the stops and sealed them. Gluing would be another option, which I have not looked into further.

We have been happy with glass for decades. Why is that not an option for you?
