As expected, we need a "roll-off protection" on the sleeping loft for our boys in order to pass the building inspection by the authorities. Does anyone have ideas on how to create this simply and attractively?

Attached is a photo from the early stages of construction, but you can still get a good impression of what the sleeping loft looks like. The headroom up there is about 1.80m (5 ft 11 in), the width is approximately 4.70m (15 ft 5 in), and access is via a centrally located removable ladder.

Well, to put it simply, just screw a board lengthwise along the last beam over the entire length. One that sticks out about 20cm (8 inches) above it. And that's it, or am I misunderstanding?

Since when does someone officially accept a building? I have never heard of this in the single-family home sector.

Nobody did that for me either, but if that’s how it is there, then it is what it is...

We also had an inspection by the building authority. It is only logical that someone checks whether the construction was carried out according to the approved plans.

Our construction was repeatedly inspected by an official from the building authority. He is friendly and clearly states what he requires for compliance. I believe that, for now, there will be a temporary "board solution," and we will see how to proceed from there. But perhaps someone has a better idea that could be a permanent fix.
